Was it yesterday afternoon as I noticed a lot of people signing in at the station building on the northbound platform

I think 'Norman' has a proper plaque, doesn't it? The unit named after Reading depot has a naff looking sticker on it.

Norman retired last Friday 30 October after a career of over fifty years. A far as I know The naming took place on Friday, prior to a party alongside Henley on Thames station.

There is currently a webpage describing the event at the Henley Standard -the local paper's- website. Plenty of pictures of Norman's splendid mutton-chop whiskers!

I wish him a very happy retirement.

Nope, 166204 'Norman Topsom MBE' is a vinyl application as well. The Techs at Reading TCD cant have done a bad job then if it looks like a cast one! :D
