Unspecified OLE issues at Doncaster - any more info? Would travelling via York help?

A balloon?!
Balloon on the overhead line. Services can still run but with the pan down in limited traction mode.

Sounds like we may go via Pontefract now. Guess the balloon removal is problematic.

My wife is on the train and says that it's been cancelled.
Confirmed by LNER. Website says that their 16:40 Leeds to London Kings Cross due 18:52 has been cancelled. Reportedly due to an object being caught on the overhead electric wires.

An object being caught on the overhead wires between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate means some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Farce. Directed to Harrogate train. Which is going to Harrogate. Not KGX.

At least the hgate will be diesel so maybe more flexible on route.

The next service (ex-Harrogate to London) is going via Hambleton to Doncaster.

Yup, just got on it. Mild chaos made better for a very amenable Aussie guard.

Reservations not yet cancelled so the old chestnut of whose reservation, if any, is applicable, is playing out!

Bizarrely and very luckily I walked straight into an unreserved seat! A minor miracle.

Does the 16:40 cancellation mean a full refund, or does it depend on eventual arrival time in KGX?

There is no refund, you claim Delay Repay from the operator who first delayed you, presumably LNER. And, yes, Delay Repay varies according to the amount of delay incurred.
Delay against scheduled arival time of 18:52 if King’s Cross is your destination.
