16-25 railcard question

Just 1 question, my 16-25 railcard is due to run out in september and my 25th birthday is next july would i still be allowed to re-new it as i am still a student til 2013?

If you're a full-time student you can continue to renew despite being over 25, however it is my understanding that you'll have to do it in person at a station (as opposed to online). See here.

You can buy a new railcard until the day before your 26th Birthday. If you are still a full time student a year after this then you are fine to renew on the student grounds.

Yes. Mrs. island renewed her railcard two days before her 26th on this basis.

As a mature student, you can not renew online, but also you need to get a tutor to sign the application for to verify that you are a full time student. Bit of a pain as we have to do this for my Husband (and he is on student placement more than in Uni) but well worth it.

Mature students need either an ISIC card or have their tutor, head tutor or head of department fill in and sign the relevant section of the form and sign and stamp the photo.

Unis also normally give you a stamped letter to prove that you attend that institution.

Make sure that the photo is also signed at the back. Not all staff will insist on this however I have run into problems at Southampton Central despite having all the necessary documentation and identification with me.
