Morning Everyone,

Some years ago (I don't remember when exactly but it was in SWT days), I was travelling up on the West of England Line on a pair of 159s, leading unit 159007.

Shortly after leading Andover the train stopped abruptly and we were told that we had hit a tree across the line.

The set was then brought back into Andover under it's own power, where we were detrained. The damage involved the coupler, and the bottom end of the gangway.

I have poked around on the Internet and cannot find any reference to this incident, so I would appreciate any information there is on this incident.

This type of incident is relatively common, and not often published other than in local new sites. You need to hope for a SWT controller or driver, or someone with An excellent memory and a special interest in that area, to be reading this.
