This unit appears to have lost one of its coaches and is running as a 2 car set, anyone know which vehicle is missing and why, out of interest?

A Flickr image search suggests all three coaches were present as recently as early March.

Currently running as 52771 and 57771.

Would it be showing in TOPS as 158771 (original formation) or would it still be showing its hybrid number 158957?

Hybrid number - no reason to change it.

Have seen on another Forum that 57748 will be re-united with it after receiving a C4 Examination but I haven't got a timescale

I think i read somewhere that the 158/9 units will be reformed back into 2 car 158/0 units when they go west.

It is buried somewhere in the Forum. 7 x 3 Cars are to be retained which include 3 working on the Barnstaple Branch. Later this year.
