158 820 "Damien"...Any workings gen?

Hail all!
Just a quick one for those down in ATW land. As mentioned elsewhere I'm nipping off to Newport on Friday, and I'm hoping that I might be able to work Damien into part of my journey, if I'm lucky with the workings over the weekend!

To this end; I'm not experienced enough yet to know if specific units are assigned to specific workings in advance, but if that is the case, does anyone know if Damien'll be working any services between Bristol TM/Pkway and Newport on Friday and the following Monday? If so, which ones is 'e booked on? 8)

Given that 158820 is an ATW unit, why would it be working on FGW services between Bristol Parkway/Temple Meads and Newport?

Oh gumpf! I'd always thought ATW had the runs from Bristol TM through the Severn Tunnel...Otherwise why else have I seen so many ATW units at Bristol TM before? hock:

In that case I suppose I can always take an FGW unit to Severn Tunnel Jct and change there for whatever comes (I presume ATW cover the workings between STJ and Cheltnham?) but given that the Bristol/Severn area is well outside the scope of my local knowlege, I suppose I could be forgiven for making that mistake!

Death i do not think ATW use the 158's in south wales, i think they use 150/2's between cheltenham and newport.

I think the 158's are used on mid wales/birmingham/manchester/north wales services.

There are still some 158's show up in South Wales, I have seen them on the Cheltenham - Cardiff route. The will also sometimes show up on the Holyhead - Cardiff and Manchester - South Wales route vice a 175. I am sure some are stil diagrammed to Cardiff as they can't do some of the exams they need at Machnellyth (sorry about spelling)

there also has been i believe 2 ATW 150 units that have been on hire to FGW too which may account for seeing some of their units in the Bristol TM

the 158's still get used right across the atw network, not so much the valleys but I've even had the pleasure of a 158 from barry island in the past...!
And the reason you've seen atw units in bristol in the past, is a.) we used to run services there and b.) a fair few of out 150's are out on hire on fgw.
as for gen on 158820... pretty much impossible, it's what comes off shed on the day/what fills in for 175's tbh
