I would like to see 156402 in service but don't know what line it operates. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Last time I was on 156402 was between Norwich and Lowestoft, at the end of December. Haven't seen it about on the Wherry Lines that often since then...

It appears all over the place, I wasn't looking much but I did notice one (possibly both) of the refurbed 156s in Norwich today.

The two that are refirbished are used within the same pool as all other GA 156s and can be found on any diagrams.

156402 has been operating in and out of Norwich today.

For the remainder of today it is working:-

2S27 1855 Sheringham - Norwich.
2J90 2005 Norwich - Lowestoft.
2D99 2107 Lowestoft - Ipswich.

Good chance of seeing it early tomorrow morning at Ipswich.

Went out to try and spot either the 47's or a 156 this afternoon, as luck would have it, both services at Lowestoft I saw (13:50 to Norwich, 14:05 to Ipswich) were both 153's

search for the class 47 gen yahoo group, as they are keeping close tabs in the 47 workings as well, thought I would throw it in, helps find 47's and eliminate non 156 workings

They are 47802 and 47805 (the two on the hauled set already) and the new ones are 47810, 818 and 828. Not sure why they have turned up though.

We commented the other afternoon that at that time of day we never had that many 47s around Thorpe Stn before the knitting went up

All we need is the Class 03 station pilot and we could dust off the 1984 Stratford class 47 diagrams

2 will be for the LHCS set, one will be a thunderbird, one will be spare and one will be used on the Great Yarmouth Summer Saturday Holiday trains as shown below:

5V33 0919 Norwich Crown Point to Great Yarmouth
1V33 1040 Great Yarmouth to London Liverpool Street (As far as Norwich)
1V18 1000 London Liverpool Street to Great Yarmouth (From Norwich at 1203)
1V43 1310 Great Yarmouth to London Liverpool Street (As far as Norwich)
1V28 1230 London Liverpool Street to Great Yarmouth (From Norwich at 1450)
5V28 1625 Great Yarmouth to Norwich Crown Point

The actual locomotives that perform these duties will probably be swapped around, although last year 47828 did nearly all of the drags.

LHCS stands from "Locomotive Hauled Coaching Stock" and just means a train that isn't a multimple unit, so in this case the top & tail class 47 hauled set, and a thunderbird locomotive is just simply a locomotive used to rescue broken down trains. In this case they are DRS 47s, and there is one at Colchester during the day, which receives maintenance at Norwich.
