Sure I've been on one or two before, although no idea if a 3-car is regularly booked for it.

Just double checked with someone who knows everything. Contrary to my previous post, Blackpool don't sign 155's but do sign their one car equivalent, the 153.

Something I had already pointed out in post 5.

Do any 3 Car 158s ever work Leeds-Carlisle diagrams?

They do.

I believe it was Sunday 25th August when a 3-car 158 operated in a 4-car formation with a dogbox on the service that arrived at Carlisle around noon.

I've only once ever seen a 3 car 158 make it to Hull - on a late evening York to Hull service. Much as there's a lot of summer strengthening of South Yorkshire to Bridlington/Scarborough I've never seen a 3 car 158 used.
