1508 ATW Hereford to Wilmslow today

This service was said by the conductor to have been delayed by "an incident" but would say nothing further than that. (It was the 1108 ATW Milford Haven to Manchester Piccadilly). This sounds ominous.

Has any of our railway staff on the forum any news what happened?

The train left Hereford 20 mins late arriving Wilmslow 16 mins late, you made up 4 mins during the journey overall. I don't know why though.

There were reports of trespassers in the Newport area this afternoon.. could this have affected your train as it passed through the area?

As long as that is all it was, I am very relieved. When my wife heard that no comment was made as to the delay, save only it was "an incident", she assumed there might have been an accident to someone on the line, which the conductor did not want to discuss. She was quite upset all the journey homewards, despite my attempts to tell her that I would make a posting on the forum when we drove home from Wilmslow.

I will pass these messages on to her.
