Noticed both cars of unit 150247 on the back of 2 HGV's parked on the hard shoulder of the northbound M42 near Solihull yesterday afternoon.

Bearing in mind the time of year - condition of the tyres makes it unfit to run?

Coudl well be, and I would be quite confident in saying that Tyseley was the likely destination - There have been a couple of FGW 150 units (and 158s) knocking about at Tyseley at various times in recent weeks.

Wasn't it meant to be a Megabus service from London to Birmingham but owing to technical difficulties with the bus, they had to lay on a replacement train service?

Don't be ridiculous ;). If they were to do that they would strap the bus bodies onto freight wagons wouldn't they .

Oh, you saw the 142 prototype then?

Oops, I meant the prototype of the 140, which itself was a prototype for the Pacer. :)

It was 140001, not a 142 prototype, who could forget the class 141s which were the first production Pacers and subsequently sold to Iran, and people wonder why they are trying to bomb us now!

Yes I know Iran is a very friendly place and they are not trying to bomb us, it is a joke as in humour, funny ha ha etc, so please lets not do that one again!

Ah, you posted just as I realised my mistake, but thanks for the correction :)

Heavy maintenance at London Midland's Tyseley Depot perhaps?

Yes. It has been known before that if there are not enough drivers available from FL? then units are moved to Tyseley by road transport. Several repainted 153s went that way earlier this year too.

Although it has been reported elsewhere that at least some of the 150s will now be having heavy maintenance at St Phillips Marsh rather than Tyseley.

Yes you are correct we are doing some off the C4s at spm as I'm part of the team! But some 150's were all ready planned to go to tysely for C4.
