Just put a complaint in to Northern about 2 journies on 142 036 3 hours apart on the same day. They are actually quite comical but I thought the feedback should be given. What I sent them is in quotes below.
"I caught the 10:36 from West Allerton to South Parkway this morning. I was caught short so to say so used the toilet in the train which was one of a pair of Pacers. After finishing my ablutions I washed my hands and then realised I was trapped in the toilet, there was no door handle. at first I tried to use my keys to try and move the latch out of the way to no avail. Then I tried banging on the door and my fellow passengers kindly offered no help. Eventually I discovered the spindle from the door handle on the floor, managed to get it in the hole and let myself out. I reported what had happened to the station staff.
3 hours later I was at Lime Street waiting for the 13:26 Oxford Road service to West Allerton and saw it was a pair of Pacers, the same pair I had been on earlier. I was pleased to see that after my earlier report that someone had put plenty of tape on the toilet of the front unit to show it was out of use. I got up to leave the train at West Allerton and the doors didn't release. Or at least they released just as the beeping started and shut again after opening about an inch, just for laughs these doors were the ones right next to the dodgy toilet door. As such I got overcarried to South Parkway. I made the guard aware and he very kindly checked I was going to be OK getting home.
I think you folks do a great job with equipment like the Pacers that were out of date when they were introduced and I look forward to the new rolling stock that will soon be delivered as I am sure you are. I just thought I should provide you with this feedback as someone without my physical, mental and financial capability could have put you in the press in a negative light having been carried much further than they intended and much further than I was."
