Does anyone know if the Government/DfT have given any answers to the proposal from Virgin yet?

I think that they might have said no, mainly because virgin wanted in cab signalling instead of lineside which they have at the moment

I thought that was the reason why they couldn't got 140mph? and 135mph was the fastest they could go without In-Cab signaling?

It would be goo if they did it! I'm sure the tracks can take it, the 390s can do it fine...

Yeah it would be good, the Trent Valley should definitely be able to take it and maybe some stretches south of Rugby. Rugby would be fun to go through at that speed :D.
