125 group?

Is the 125 plan with preserving a full set (including the valentas) still going ahead? Apologies if a thread based on this topic has already been created.

Yes according to their website

When 125 Group started out preservation seemed very far away, but as the HST fleet gets ever closer to the end of its working life our attentions have been turned to the future and our role in preserving for future generations an example of these magnificent trains which the revolutionized the long-distance rail network in the 1970s. We will do everything we can to meet our commitment to preserve an HST in as near to original configuration as possible. Our dream is to save a pair of power cars with Valenta engines and a selection of trailer cars.

Yes there are several Valenta's that they have got on site.

The group aims haven't changed, just can't do much more on that front until powercars start to come off lease.

In the meantime, 41001 and the MK3's we have are keeping us busy while we wait.......

Along with all the trouble that the MK3's have like the air-con not working well. And to repaint 12087.

12092 was like a fridge on Saturday! The (identical!) faults with 10206 and 11074 aircon were found and fixed on Sunday. That leaves 12087, where the fault is known and replacement parts are required.

Its just the cost though I believe it was £400 for the part they need.

But when the Brush failed the Air con had a considerable difference as was noted by the 125 Group members. Where were you as I didn't obviously recognise you.
