Anyone know when tickets will be issued for The Journey Shrinker on Oct-3?

Have you asked the operator/promoter?
I’d have thought they are the best option to give you an accurate answer?

I emailed on Friday morning but they haven’t responded yet - wondered if anyone knew anything before I chase them up next week - not a regular, so maybe this is normal?

I am considering going on the Rio Revival tour on the 4th Oct (one way St Pancake - Manchester Pic) and was wondering, as I am only 16, it would be a bit much to go all the way down to London, and therefore I will be joining on at either Leicester or Chesterfield.

My question is would it be worth me joining on at Leicester and spending the extra £10 (making it £40 not including travel to/from Leicester and Manchester) or would I not miss out much from getting it from Chesterfield for £10 less? No matter which one I do it totals up to approx. £10 travel expense for me to get to/from the originating station and Manchester, so that’s not an issue.

I would recommend paying the £10 extra if you can stretch to it to be honest - that would replicate more similarly what it was like to go on a project Rio HST service back in the day - I did that at the time and your post reminds me that I went to Leicester to board it.

Thanks, I’m all booked from Lei - Man now, looking forward, 125 Group said they’re expecting the locos to be 025/159 on the set which was expected, so should be good, happy that my first tour is with 125 group as well.

I'll be taking the HST from St Pancras to Manchester in its full journey in first class and there is still nothing on the exact 43s/number of MK3s used as it shows 3 class 43s but only 2 will be used (probably 43025 & 159).

I'll be taking the HST from St Pancras to Manchester in its full journey in first class and there is still nothing on the exact 43s/number of MK3s used as it shows 3 class 43s but only 2 will be used (probably 43025 & 159).

I could imagine it will be the full 7 mk3s

Yeah asked 125 group on Facebook, they confirmed the two (025+159), I am also booked on from Leicester so should be nice, glad for them to be my first tour operator rather then one of the ‘big ones’

It's a journey that I've waited for 23 years to do and my first mainline rail tour was the HST from Marylebone to Banbury on the Master Cutler minitour on the 15th of March 2024 during the Marylebone 125 celebrations. It's one thing to book the Rio Revival charter train but getting home afterwards one has to take into consideration (I already have a hotel and return ticket back to London booked).

I'm sure this will be a good trip - sorry other commitments mean I can't make it - I did one of the one way trips with them last year and it was excellent - well organised, friendly on board team.
Look forward to hearing about it from those going on it and maybe seeing some pictures!

It's one thing to book the Rio Revival charter train but getting home afterwards one has to take into consideration (I already have a hotel and return ticket back to London booked).

Getting home was quite simple for be, being based in Notts I’m fortunate enough to be able to get the direct EMR service (Liverpool Like Street - Norwich) back home, and with railcards and split ticketing that’s only totalled up to around £7, which is part the reason why I chose to travel this tour, cheaper than the rest and easy to get back, whilst still getting good time behind it.
