A thread dedicated to the Renfe units that survived a devastating bombing attack in Madrid back in 2004. It is understood around 2-3 units out of the 7 units ( 4 trains with 3 of them consiting of double 3+3 units) that got caught in the bombings have survived and returned to service since.
Apparently one of the survivors was likely spotted at an unusual location, at the Vilanova depot in Barcelona in a sad, debranded state which leads me to potentially one of 3 of the following:
1. Preservation at Museum
2. Reinforced for Rodalies service
3. Scrapping
