Good afternoon all!

Quick question if anyone knows - how busy is the 1100 King's Cross to Edinburgh VTEC service likely to be tomorrow, up until York (its first stop)?

I'm happy to go a little earlier or later, but this service would probably be perfect in terms of timings.

Thanks! :)

You'll get a seat either in First or Standard.

If there's a major problem tomorrow and multiple trains are cancelled then all bets are off; but that's unlikely.

For the record, and by way of comparison, in the summer months (August-festival time in Edinburgh) it will be almost 100% reserved in both classes.

I've used this service each year for a long time and it's always full. And not just Fridays.

I can certainly understand that in the summer. However, I suppose a chilly March day is unlikely to usually be quite as popular! Thanks :)

I haven't booked a ticket since it changed to VTEC but if the facility to select a seat is still there try making a dummy booking and it will give you an idea

It's not letting me select individual seats. I could in theory make a reservation, however. In fact, pretty much all services around that time still have either Advances or reservations available. Just as well, really! :)

I wouldn't be able to book the ticket I want online anyway, but this gives me an idea. Thanks!

*Awaits inevitable march of lunatic tsr fans on ECML services tomorrow*
