101 Things in 1001 Days

Out of boredom and lack of creativity in my life, I've decided to take on the 101 things in 1001 days challenge.

(Obviously) It's a list of 101 things that I want to have done in the next 1001 days. That's roughly 2.75yrs.

I'm going to be blogging about my progress, and taking pictures of everything I can (excluding no.76 )

That's fantastic!! There are some real good ideas in there and a good spread of easy and hard targets. Did you have to set all of these yourself or are they a standard list with a few personal alterations?

When you say "ride a motorcycle" (#61), do you mean as a passenger or riding it yourself? If riding as a passenger counts, I could help you achieve that one.

Cheers I set all the goals myself. Took about three days to think them all up. They're things that I want or need to do. Plus if they're on a list, I'm much more likely to do them, cause there's nothing more I love than ticking things off lists!

Riding as a passenger counts for #61.

Lol, cheers. Hope I manage them all too! I doubt I will though somehow...

It's just those things that you always say you'll do, but never get round to.

If I don't finish them all though, then I have to make a new list and do it again! So I've gotta finish a list eventually or I'll forever be ticking off tasks

Should be fine if the connections are ok. Don't forget you'll need to get up to Wick and back from Penzance though, that'll add another night or two to the trip

Wow, this looks like an interesting thing to do. Seriously, I'm tempted to do the same sort of thing. Got plenty of things I could put on such a list in such a challenge.

Riding as a passenger on a motorcycle can be exhilarating. Great fun had storming up the A483 going home after a long shift at work...

You're problem is that Wick is terrible to get to by train. Your best bet might be to take the sleeper to Inverness and spend a day training around there (including Wick) and return to London on the Sleeper, which'll allow you to get the Daytime HST to Penzance.

I can help you with 77, I can do it in about 7 languages (btw. you have 1/10 on that if you can speak english ) for 40, you can use baby ones, I can't do 29 have fun with your venapuncture , OOOOO, and whats the addiction in number 7?

English doesn't count for 77 But I think I can already do about 5 languages.

For 40, baby marshmallows don't count! Has to be the normal sized ones.

Just a quick look reveals this, this is done on times for Mon to Fri and the sleepers are on their Mon to Thurs times:

This is obviously non-stop although there i9s no-way you are going to do that on service trains, somebody may run a railtour throughout at some pint (if you've got £500 spare) although there would probably be breaks in that!

2115 EUS - INV arr 0830
(Breakfast)
1039 INV - WCK arr 1457 via THS
1552 WCK - INV arr 2005 via THS
2040 INV - EUS arr 0743
(Breakfast)
1005 PAD - PNZ arr 1512
Can then do units or HST lepas in the West Country or break your journey at some point (Exeter?).
2200 PNZ - PAD arr 0540 ish (without checking!)

If you do go back to PAD on the 1730 ex PNZ then what are you going to do, the beds back again?

Depends on what's going on around you at the time, but Penzance tends to get a bit boring and I'd be out of there double-quick. I'd mainly choose the 1730 as it goes via Bristol Temple Meads and just that bit different.

But I'd imagine Ms. Gizmogle would prefer to get back to Paddington and get the 2345 sleeper up to Preston then go home. Or something like that. That's what I'd do, if I were living up that way and was doing such a trip.
