10 car Voyagers through Reading

I've just seen two 10 car XC Voyagers, one in each direction, to the west of Reading on the GWML (1z27, 1z04). I've only ever seen single units previously. Have XC strengthened their Saturday services, or is this something temporary ?

Probably doubled up to compensate for cancellations due to strike.

Yes, I’ve spent all day between Reading and Oxford today on a ranger (report uploaded in the trip reports forum) all XC services had eight or nine coaches. Manchester to the South trains had been halved for the day (1tp2h instead of hourly/every other service cancelled) so the trains that would have would have worked the cancelled service coupled to the services working instead. :)
