Hi all.
I apologise if this isn’t the correct location for my query.
I’m using the 10:35 Manchester to London service next Wednesday (14th August) but have a fair bit of luggage. Is there a set platform for this at Manchester, or does anyone know the inbound service it is formed from?
I’m hoping to be on the platfor when it comes in to try and make sure my luggage is kept together.
Thank you in advance.

https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:C21653/2024-08-14/detailed implies platform 8 but there are lots of platform changes currently because of work on the roof; normally the service inbound will be the 10:05 arrival from London so you should look for this.

In any case, unlike at London Euston, departure platforms are usually advertised well in advance at Manchester Piccadilly.

Concur with @jfollows. Don't want to alarm the OP, but it looks like the 1035 Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston service didn't actually run today (as the inbound service from Euston arrived late). And the exact same thing happened the Wednesday before, and for the same reason! Hopefully, this won't be a problem next week!

Thank you both for the replies, I appreciate it.
If the service next week is cancelled, I assume I’d be able to use the following service? As I wouldn’t have a reserved seat in that, is there an unreserved coach?

Yes.

If it's a 9 car coach C, if it's an 11 car coach C, U and G.

Yes, you're valid on the train before or train after. Unreserved coaches are C, and on an 11-car pendolino, also U and G.

Thanks again for your replies. This should help make the journey less painful!
Just out of interest (and a cheeky ask), would you know what inbound train forms the Eus>Man Picc 20:53? That will be my return journey on Thursday 29th August.

Possibly the 1755 Avanti service from Manchester Piccadilly, arriving 2010 at London Euston (platform 15).

The 10:35 Piccadilly-Euston did run today, it used platform 8, its set number was 390 123, and it arrived at 10:11 from London, a few minutes late on the scheduled 10:05 arrival time. It was 27 minutes late arriving in London, so Delay Repay can be claimed (25% of the cost of a single ticket or 12.5% of the cost of a return ticket).
