Hello all, I recently received an invite for an interview with a TOC For whom with I'm applying for for a job, they sent me an email today telling me they've booked me for a 1-1 Competency based interview.

Could anyone tell me what this could be? Has anyone here had one before and know what I should expect?

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

It will be an interview with questions in the style of "Can you give an example of when you have ..."

Main advice would be to bear in mind the role when answering, you want to show your suitability, but they also want to learn about you as a person, so don't be afraid to use some non work based examples.

Pretty much as above, they're looking to see if you can give examples of when you've shown qualities that they want for the role you've applied for. I don't know which role you've applied for, but it will be along the lines of teamwork, conflict resolution, good customer service etc. Look at the job description and look for the qualities they want, and you won't be far wrong.

Just for clarification, the Situation, the Task at hand, the Action you took and the Result. You could also include whether you would act differently in future, shows self awareness.
