0906 Skegness - Nottingham

In my experience, the Nottingham-Skeggys were either 156s or 158s.

It was a 158 every day last week, except Monday when it was a single 153. Yesterday it was a single 153 again; today it was 2x153. What it's actually booked for (and whether that's different on certain days), I don't know - RTT might tell you what it's timed for (DMU S), but that's very different to what's booked to work it.

I'd say that neither "realtimetrains" or "opentraintimes" are no guide as to what is diagrammed. They are merely timing tools for the speed of the train and what classes CAN work it.

I would prefer it to be a class 153 or 156, but knowing my luck a class 158 will turn up. Anything but a class 158 will do!!

So you would prefer a one coach train with seats that are to low with not enough legroom, that let cold air in through the windows and panels, that are noisy internally especially when accelerating. That dont have aircon that can only reach 75mph when working fully which is not often that's heating has two tempretures- too hot or off to a air-conditioned 2 car train with more than enough legroom seat back tables more compatible seats and so on

EMT don't have any 150s or 155s. I presume you mean 153/156/158.

I once attempted to board a 153 at Heckington which had come from Skegness. I just managed it, and it was very cosy indeed [nothing to do with the efficiency of the heaters, or lack of].

I can understand how somebody might want a 156 to turn up rather than a 158, especially if they're "bored" of 158's. That said, the EMT 158's are rather nice tbh. I used to detest 158's turning up on Crewe-Derby/Nottingham etc. back in Central Trains days, much prefering a 156 or 170. Nowaday's it's a different story and I'd be over the moon should a (EMT) 158 turn up! Quite why anybody would prefer a 153 over anything else (with the possible exception of a Pacer) is beyond me. Rancid, horrible things.

I believe it is booked a Class 156, but on occasion due to resourcing issues a Class 153 may be substituted.
