Is there actually an 0830 train direct from York to Middlesbrough on Saturday 28th June 2025?
The 08:39 to Middlesbrough was six cars last Saturday - so I'd wager, not that busy at all. TPE are also happily selling Advance tickets for it.

Unless there's some sort of event on that morning or early afternoon, 50p says you'll get a table for four to yourself on it. And even if there is an event you'll probably still get a table for four to yourself (or at least a seat anyway)! North of York those services basically cart fresh air on 6-cars and even on 3-cars everyone gets a seat. The exception are on Saturday evenings when they can carry very heavy loads of people who have been out drinking all day in York.
