My wife wanted to travel on this Avanti train this morning Wednesday 23 April. We checked National Rail Enquiries and the ticket selling site she usually uses on Tuesday evening and both had the train listed but neither were able to find fares for this service nor was she able to buy tickets online. The same was true when we checked this morning. She ended up travelling on an earlier, slightly slower train. I've just checked and for the same train tomorrow, both NRE and the forum's ticket site show tickets for this train at the usual price. Does anyone know what might have been going on?

It was probably "sold out". She could have travelled on it by purchasing a walk-up fare for any other relevant train and boarding without a reservation, though the chance of a seat would be low.
