Thanks

I presume by "new" you mean Newcastle (NCL) - in any case can you stick to using full station names rather than codes in thread titles please :)

Just thought it was pretty obvious. A hst to kings cross. Apologies, I tried to be clever using the station codes but erroneously thought Newcastle was NEW.

It's probably obvious to 99% of us to be honest, but the rule was introduced for good reason.

There were times when it was just confusing for everyone. For example, someone would come on the site looking for a cheap CrossCountry ticket from "BNS to YRK". Except the problem was that BNS isn't Birmingham New Street. :)

To be fair, my initial reaction when I saw the thread was to think "Newark", it's entirely feasible to have a HST from there to Kings Cross. Anyway, not to worry - hopefully things have been cleared up for you now.

For potential confusion, consider someone requesting help for LLS to Norwich.

Without further clarification, very difficult to guess what LLS is supposed to stand for. This is one of the main reasons we ask that abbreviations are not used if possible (especially three-letter ones as they can cause confusion with CRS codes).

For the record, NEW is Newcraighall.

Never understood how that code was available for a fairly modern station.
