0345 SHF to MAN

Hi all,

Just been on TrainLine to find out what time the last train off Sheffield is back to Manchester. For those who are sensible, the 2247 is the last service, but for those who are not, and fancy a session on the alcohol, it seems the 0345 is the last train.

Does this service run every night? It would be ideal for me if I want to stay out in Sheffield after Uni, then go home if necessary.

Any information on this would be great.

I guess you could argue that the 0345 is the first train as well.

According to table 78 the 0345 runs Monday mornings to Saturday mornings and gets into Piccadilly at 0440.

The earlier train at 2247 runs Mon - Fri with Saturdays departure being 2224

Used to use this one a bit when I lived in Belfast but made weekend trips back to Sheffield, it was the only way of getting on the 0700 flight to BFS (back in 2004/5 the subsequent train arrived at Manchester Airport too late for checkin, about 0630 I think). Was never particularly busy but definitely pax in double figures on a Monday morning.

So if I was out on the Saturday night, there is no late train (early Sunday morning)?

Not according to table 78 of the timetable. Last train 2224 on Saturday night, next one 0750 Sunday morning.
There are some early Sunday morning trains from York - Leeds - Huddersfield to Manchester but that doesn't really help you much though does it.

Remember back when the original Gatecrasher was still alive, and Insomniacs used to follow on at the NCPM... think doors opened around 4am and closed 12 midday on Sunday. You used to see a fair few space cadets in their neon trance gear and furry leg warmers shivvering at bus stops and on the station platform on a wintry Sunday afternoon, tired, dehydrated and probably coming down from whatever it was that had kept them raving for ten hours straight

I'll persuade my mates to stay up to 0750 with me, we'll find somehwere to rave until then!
