00 Gauge Fowler 4F

Hello all.

Have any model company had a fowler 4f that looks like this in 00 gauge?

i'm asking because the only one i've that looks like that is in N gauge and the 00 gauge ones have a different tender

i dont mind what number is on the side

The only companies to make a 4F in OO are Airfix and Hornby (using the Airfix tooling).The motor was in the tender until 2012 when Hornby re-tooled it. As far as I know, neither produced one numbered 44277.

I've got a Triang one which looks the same. I think you'll find some on eBay.

I used to have one of the old Tri-ang models, I think that was a 3F though and not a 4F.
They were not a particularly precise model because they used the "one size fits all" design of chassis/motor/wheels, as the Jinty and "08" shunter models !
The Hornby models produced in recent years are decent products for the money and second hand ones can easily be sourced for anyone on a budget !
Edit for anyone new to modelling. Lima made a 4F back in the late 1970's/early 80's, in O gauge, HO scale and N gauge.
The HO models do run on OO gauge track, but they are scaled at continental and US, 3.5mm:ft, rather than British OO at 4mm:ft

Bachmann do or at least did produce a 4F and I say this because I own one! The same can be said for the 3F which I also own. Both are fine models. One of my future projects is to fit a tender cab to the 4F.
