This should almost belong in T&RS, as the Smith-Stone speedos (and axle-end generators) are still in common use. But I suspect that a need to know how the speedo drive operates is actually very niche.

There is some technical information in this manual that I require urgently, so I am wondering how to go about acquiring a copy.

I did notice their online listing. Wondering whether it will be possible for them to scan and email the pages.

Just to close this thread out - scanning wasn't possible, so I ended up visiting the NRM library last week to view and photograph the Smith-Stone manuals. To access NRM archive materials requires at least one week's notice by email, in order so that you can book admission tickets and so that the volunteers can retrieve your requested boxes in good time.

I'm glad it worked out in the end, I should perhaps have said at the time of my post that I didn't think the NRM would provide scans and that a visit in person would be required but at least you got there in the end and they had what you wanted.

We had a forum meal in York, the night before my library visit, so the timings worked out well
