ČD stated that the existing railjet services won’t be affected, but why is Prague - Graz on the list? Will it contradict with ČD’s statement?

Also, apart from 230km/h Vectron, will the comfort jet also be pulled by Class 1216s or Vectrons hired from ELL?

Moderator note - please provide a source for this quote and a suitable translation.

First, please provide a translation!
Second, where is the reference to Graz?

1. Can you provide a translation.
2. Can you provide a link to the original.
3. There’s no mention of Graz in what you have quoted.

Possibly, as long as they are fitted with appropriate ÖBB WTB system, which I believe all Vectrons are. Clearly the intent is they will be worked by the Vectron 230km/h fleet, but any of the other 61 Vectrons that will be in the ČD fleet (ELL, RSL, 193902) are possible.

Translation:
Another control car for the new ComfortJet kits has arrived at the VUZ Velim test circuit. ️

Testing of our new long-distance trains continues at full speed!

The first sets will carry passengers this year. Initially, it is expected to be deployed between Prague and Ostrava or on the route Bohumín - Prague - Františkovy Lázně, in the next phase on the Ex 5 line from Prague via Berlin to Hamburg. You can see their final deployment on the map.

The ComfortJet carriages will be put into operation between 2024 and 2026 on international routes from Prague to Hamburg, Graz and Budapest, among others.

See the map on Facebook for dates which I have just noticed. It does not show the Ostrava-Prag axis which the post confirms as the initial services, but later intentions which intermingle with existing Railjet routes.

I take 2030+ to be an aspiration. 2028+ for the direct Praha-Brno seems optimistic, on-line upgrading is underway but the cutoff is a decade or more away.

Praha-Bratislava-Budapest are the soonest new routes on that map.

Why are we getting worked up about the Railjet ComfortJet distinction? Would anyone notice were it not for CD's current marketing efforts?

ČD plans to deploy comfortjet on services to Prague - Graz so I was curious.

If they extend some to Villach or Ljubljana then they’ll need more sets so makes sense there will be some of the newer sets used on the Wien axis.

True. Route extension would need extra coaches.

The new ČD stock is nine car, rather than the seven of the RailJets, so whilst possible, I would expect the new stock to be primarily used on the Berlin - Praha - Budapest axis.

I’m not sure extension of the Praha-Graz service to Villach when the Koralmbahn opens is on the cards. More likely is that a set from Praha will join another RailJet set at Wien Hbf, with the Praha set detached at Graz (front set forward to Villach).
