What should Northern's new units be like?

I hope that any future train design can accommodate 4 or more wheelchairs simultaneously per unit.

XC rolling stock speculation (including whether tilt could return)

I would rather see XC get cascaded Class 802s from GW, TP or HT after select parts of those operators' route networks are electrified.

Would it be practical for lease companies to maintain a fleet surplus of 5% for spot hire?

I wonder if any Sprinters and BR Second Generation EMUs will be maintained as "spot hires" for the next decade.

    Chiltern replacement stock

Without any commitment for electrification on the Chiltern network, new DMUs make the most sense because that carbon neutral target by 2050 will be ignored.

Cross Country Cancellations - Emergency Timetable

Doesn't anyone else think that there might be another "Emergency Timetable" at XC between Epiphany (Jan 6th) and Ash Wednesday (March 5th) to further more staff training?

What should be done to make the rail network more robust against severe weather.

What Britain needs is more man-made ponds where excess rainfall can collect within 1 mile (or so) of railway lines.

Battery 450s replacing 159s on West of England line?

Could battery hybrid Class 444s be a better solution than battery hybrid Class 450s on the West of England line? This will likely require Portsmouth services to loose their Class 444 in favour of Class 450s and Class 458s.

Is the Heathrow Express a viable, worthwhile service?

I think the Heathrow Express can be a valuable & worthwhile service if it can freeze it's fares to stimulate demand.

Should Grand Central be shut down?

I think that there is a view that all Open Acess Operators should be shut down (when their licences expire) because of the perception that the subsidy they receive via Network Rail is unacceptable.

29 new trains for Transpennine Express ?

Personally, I don't think TPE should be getting its new trains until after the TPE North route is fully electrified to York and Hull from Stalybridge.

Southern service cancelled but then ran empty.

Does Southern not have a sufficient number of OBSs and/or Guards to staff every mainline train south of Gatwick?

    ECML Timetable post GBR

Before any additional Open Access access rights are granted more track capacity and resilience needs to be added to the ECML.

Cross Country Cancellations - Emergency Timetable

Is cohort #18 the 18th training class since 2007, the 18th training class since COVID or the 18th training class this calender year?

    EMR London terminal capacity

If more capacity on the Midland Mainline is needed then EMR should run more 10-car Meridian (or class 810) diagrams, even if it requires splitting/joining at somewhere like East Midland Parkway.

Trams in london for accesibility combined with closing inaccesible tube stations to speed up those lines.

I have always wondered if a precursor to the "Cross River Tram" between Peckham and Camden would be a single contiguous bus lane (in each direction) between those two areas paralleling the potential route of the previously proposed Cross River Tramway.
