If staffing is now a major issue @ XC, I hope we don't see any single 4-car Voyager trains through BHM anymore as single 4-car Voyagers are a poor use of scarce driver resources.

How exactly is the Road Freight sector subsidized in the UK other than by using taxpayer funded roads?
Unfortunately 2-car class 195s were ordered with the long term intent to be cascaded from flagship routes to secondary rural routes like the Cumbrian Coast Line after all Sprinters are retired.
I disagree with this statement, given the limited enthusiasm by government to electrify the network. By 2035, there will likely have been very little additional electrification on the national railway network other than the already committed projects on the Transpennine and Midland Mainlines...
In the long term post-TRU in 2032, is TPE really the best operator to be serving Saltburn (via Middlesbrough) or Scarborough if those branches are not yet electrified.
Personally, I think a Regional Express dual-voltage electro-deisel bi-mode make the best sense for Cardiff to Portsmouth if the Bristol and Bath area is electrified.
Are forum members expecting XC to return its Voyageurs to their lessor before the fleet becomes life-expired in the 2030s? If they are retired early, would they be scrapped or exported?
What could be an improvement is if Lumo operated only two 10-car diagrams on the weekend, reducing the number of drivers it needs to work on the weekend.
I'd like to see all OAOs on the ECML (including GC, HT & LD) exclusively operate 10-car trains between Kings Cross and Doncaster in order to maximize the number of passengers per train path.
