Does anyone know anything about a signalling box at Ely, Cambs? The trainee grade 2 jobs were advertised for specifically Ely with a postcode which is near the station but i have no idea where it is based as i thought it was controlled by Cambridge box.

There are trainee driver roles advertised with a few TOC's at the moment. I would just get applying now, you won't stand a better chance going via another rail job (I'd argue you prob stand a worse chance sometimes). Apply when you see them as you never know when they will be advertised again.

Speak to them and ask them for extra help with this but before the interview. They would have to do something to help you due to the Equality Act 2010 i would think.

There is no pay progression as such. Every guard at a depot is on the same wage after trainee unless they are an instructor/coach too but most depots only have a few of these depending on how big. Hopefully you'll get a yearly inflation pay rise but the last few years have just been a battle...
