My phone can read my oyster card I think (although it's encrypted so can't get anything off it). May have made that up but it can do it with my passport too. So it's technically possible depending on what smartcards are in use.
Interesting in the OP that all three cases Northern chose to tell the public (I presume, not having heard of Your Nothern) about involved someone being abusive and not just a dodgy ticket or whatnot!
Thanks. That sounds like it might be something. I don't really understand why though. Even if it'd been open I wouldn't have used it!
@ian13, I'll just retry it before I next go then. I'm not really that bothered about the £1.75. I was more curious as to why I was being given it in the...
Thanks for the replies :)
Well, I do have a friend in Hammersmith (that's why I was there) but I think posting it would cost more than half the refund! They emailed to tell me it [the refund] had failed and that I can request it again so I'll just wait till next I'm down there before doing...
Hello there,

Well, it looks like something is wrong. I'll give them a few days and if it's not working I'll send them (who? ATOC or the respective companies?) an email.
This has just made me think of something. Is there a list of 'translations' of all these codes somewhere that I could look at? Some of...
Hey there,
I was looking for a fare from Sheffield to Crewe (looking for a split for something) and noticed it produced an error 'An error has occurred. Please try again.'. I was looking for an open return, returns on set dates and the opposite direction (a single doesn't work either). I've...
It does in fact form the 2148 service to Leeds so no actual changing trains needed. I only know this from having got the 2148 before and it is normally a 158 and I can't see where else that would have come from.
