My phone can read my oyster card I think (although it's encrypted so can't get anything off it). May have made that up but it can do it with my passport too. So it's technically possible depending on what smartcards are in use.

If that is the rule I haven't seen it enforced on the Airedale line.

If you go via Shipley I'd say you'd easily have room for it. Even if the cycle spaces are full you can just leave it against a right-hand-side door.

It does in fact form the 2148 service to Leeds so no actual changing trains needed. I only know this from having got the 2148 before and it is normally a 158 and I can't see where else that would have come from.
