Hi all,
I have been pondering recently about how the high speed line between Ashford and St Pancras is maintained compared to NR track. For example, I know pretty much how track is maintained on NR. With visual inspections, possessions and TSR's etc. How does it work on high speed lines? I'd...
Hi all,
As i'm not from the south, can anyone tell me how Southern services are usually formed? I.E. do they usually run as 8 cars? or 4? does this change at peak times? I appreciate they will swap and change all the time but if you could give me a general picture that would be great, thank you.
Thanks for the info gents. Another question, can anyone tell me why there is such an intensive service onthe Severn Beach line? Wikipedia suggests very low passenger numbers...
Hi all,
Do all London - West Country (Penzance, Plymouth etc) all go via Castle Cary going westbound? They seem to go via Bristol on the return to London, what is the reason for this? Surely it's better to send them through Bristol?
Thanks
Cheers Tim,
Was there any particular reason for them using that route? I suppose it's only used as a get out of jail card in the event of signal failure then?
Hi all
Are there any XC trains that call at Didcot? When in general do XC services use the 'back road' via the station rather than the avoiding line?
Cheers
Hi all,
Was I correct in seeing today a Freightliner 66 with Fast Line and GBRf HYAs on the back?
Have Freightliner bought these? If so for what purpose as I thought they had the HHAs?
Cheers
Hi all
Please can someone tell me the formation of a EC mk4 formation DVT first? if you could use the coach type codes that would be appreciated (eg TSO). Thank you...
As a footnote, are there any websites for formations out there?
Thanks guys, so are the crates loading by fork lift truck? Does the train get the same priority as an express passenger train, with it carrying the class 1 headcode?
Thanks again.
Hi all,
Can anyone provide any comprehensive information on the current postal trains that run from Shieldmuir - Willesden? Do they have any RM crew on board? What goes on, on board while the train is travelling? Does it run often? Where do they source drivers?
All information would be...
William Hague, David Milliband, Ed Balls, Lesley Garrett, Jono Lancaster, Julia Lennon, various local MP's, Clint Boon of the Inspiral Carpets and many more that I can't even remember.
Do these services have conductors? Are they busy? Or do commuters prefer to travel on the faster HST services? What about the stations on the way to Reading, are they in the commuter belt? Any general info appreciated thanks.
