We were on the Trans-Pennine from Manchester to Sheffield that day. Absolutely heaving 6-car train and ran very slowly between M/C and New Mills. I did see one EMR train come past the opposite direction.

Given the current government’s preference for publicly owned services,
perhaps link the cap to a move towards public ownership i.e. start the process and you can keep the cap?
Great, an opportunity to tell the tale of my recent trip to Berlin - please bear with me -
On the outbound as we arrived in Bruxelles on Eurostar it was announced that the Köln train would not be departing from Bruxelles MIdi but from Bruxelles Nord. So the bunch of us who were travelling on...
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this - Does anyone know what the cycle storage is going to be like on these new trains? The
cubby-hole storage on the GWR and EC units is a disaster and I fear the East Mids will be going the same way.

I often use Grand Central to travel to London via Doncaster - they go non-stop from Donnie to KX so the journey times are comparable, they have some cheap fares & they carry bikes unreserved. The trains have had a makeover recently as well. I worked out the connections from Sheffield and...
Thanks everyone for your help with this. I think these bike racks are a bit problematic: some cyclists can't lift their bikes to get them on the hook and they tend to bang around when the train is in motion. Not the best solution really.
