Thanks for showing me what a minefield it is!
I'm looking at one of the new GWR timetables. Some services are in red, and the key says "Anytime ticket required when boarding this train here". I just wanted to find a way to pick this up through the various APIs. Oh well.
Thanks for your replies. Yes, by 'service', I meant a specific journey from A to B at a certain time, not a whole train. I want to pick up and highlight, for example, the evening GWR services out of Paddington that now need an anytime ticket rather than an off-peak one.
My website has more than...
Hello. I'm already using the apis from National Rail, and Network Rail via RTT for a simple departure board website. I'd like to identify if a particular service is a peak one/needs an anytime ticket. Do I already have access to this information, or is there some other api I need to use?
Yes, thanks, that was the problem. Should anyone else come across this thread in the future, you need to use encodeURIComponent(). So something like:
const encoded = encodeURIComponent(serviceId);
Hello. I get the serviceId from getDepartureBoard and send it off to getServiceDetails. I want the subsequentCallingPoints - they come back for some services but not for others. I can't work out why. Any ideas?
Thanks for the replies. I'm looking at London Liverpool Street to Cambridge day return on a Sunday in July. I don't want to book yet until I know for sure I'm going. That's why I wanted to know if the Super Off-Peak tickets might disappear.
(I was going to use Southern's Rainy Day Guarantee...
Just coming back to answer my question. I was at Stratford again yesterday evening and found a pink reader on the Overground platform. Saved myself 90p!
Thanks for the replies. I'll have to remember to look around a bit next time. I travelled from Snaresbrook on the Central line to Brondesbury on the Overground, changing at Stratford, but got charged for Zone 1, which I wasn't expecting. Then I remembered the pink readers, but I've never noticed...
Thanks. Just tried it. Ah, same problem - although it offered next day delivery for £5 rather than £6.
(I'm trying to buy a Zone 6 station to Zone 1 return, with travelcard. With a Network Railcard it's just £5.)

How strange. You're right -...
Does anyone know the 'rules' for when self-service ticket collection is offered and when it isn't?
I'm trying to buy a ticket for next Saturday - a journey wholly in London with travelcard attached - on the FGW website and the only delivery option it's giving me is next day delivery, the cost...
