First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

Sorry to hear it. Thing is if you applied again and got identical results, that time you could go to the next stage if you are amongst the upper side of the results list that time compared to others

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

What I want to know is what justification RSSB has for only allowing people to take the train driver tests twice in their entire lifetime but that's a moan for another thread :P

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

I haven't seen it any time I have looked, but it's probably like a lot of First Group jobs where it gets un and republished multiple times. It happened with Croydon Tram Driver 4 times over a week. The Trainee one this thread is for disappeared and reappeared at least 3 times too. Looks like...

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

That's exactly why I kept quiet - I'm all for helping each other but if I gave someone advice and then they passed and I didn't, I'd be pissed 1781043218 Look what also came out today... https://careers.firstgroup.co.uk/jobs/qualified-train-driver-new-cross-greater-london-united-kingdom

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

I got to around almost 40, but of course don't know TRULY how many mistakes I made without screen recording and reviewing what I selected later - which I won't lie, I have done before. Like someone else and the email said, they can change the passing goal post to wherever they want to suit the...

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

No harm sending an email with the evidence and asking, but equally messing up one, if you got far enough through, probably won't matter, and there is a small risk you could retake and actually do worse. But if you do want to ask the question, I can't see any harm in asking, at worst they say no...

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

I can't speak for First but I expect they won't allow you to unless you have evidence of how the test looked (e.g. screenshot) when you took it. They might see that as you using an excuse that you sucked and want another go which would be unfair to other candidates - just saying how they MIGHT...

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

Nope, it is possible you have browser settings or an addon that is changing the page to "dark mode", and if the website isn't set up to handle that, it can act funny

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

I don't think it told me but going by the progress dots at the top of the screen, I'd say 50

I and others already have. Read above.

I don't personally ever remember the examples being timed It's 10 minutes for the main test though

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

It's not a difficult test to grasp so I feel that is enough examples. All you are doing is comparing data between a table of 6 rows and 4 columns, against a single row below, and identifying which columns (e.g. "Carrier Name" or "Priority") don't match the single row below. Your speed and...

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

Some of you are so impatient that I don't think a train driving job is for you

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

I'm not worried, each time I've applied for First Group stuff in the past, I usually get a rejection email when I fail a test, at least of what I can remember, but could be wrong

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

Unfortunately so. Ethical recruitment would say allow anyone with open applications to finish them and not close job adverts early, but as these jobs are so in demand, I have yet to find a company that actually gives a stuff, but I must say my experience with Southeastern was probably amongst...

First Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

It closed midway through applying ;/ If it were my choice I'd make it illegal to close adverts earlier - I'd rather companies gave a short closure date and extended it rather than a longer one and keep pulling it back. Many public transport operators do this but it is infuriating.

Croydon TramLink - Recruitment Discussion (All Roles)

Thank you, I just read back in this thread and see you were successful and recently started there, congrats! This may be an odd question (and I don't mind asking publicly) but do you remember if there was a "tell me about yourself" or other open style question at the start? And do you think...

Croydon TramLink - Recruitment Discussion (All Roles)

Thanks, I appreciate the info. Given I've driven buses I'm not concerned with the drive, but I suck at interviews so that is good to know. Once I've had my interview I'll also give my insight in to the questions asked here. I personally make notes of the questions after every interview I do

Croydon TramLink - Recruitment Discussion (All Roles)

Thanks for the confirmation! I have passed those two tests before so here's hoping to passing them again! 1775052669 Just been told I'm invited to the interview stage, but I am waiting for an available date. Only 18% of people passed the RAAT. Any insight from anyone else who recently passed on...
