Sunday 12th May is the planned date for the farewell tour, more details will be released in due course.

It's confirmed to be withdrawn tomorrow night, confirmation has been given to staff as it marks the end of Class 508 operations.

She's being stood down at the end of service tomorrow night, unless she fails before then.

There is a preservation effort ongoing through https://www.class507.org.uk/ There are no plans for any other retro livery on the 507/508's, only 001.

We weren't sure if the unit would suit it due to the facelift Electrostar light clusters, but she suits it well. Expected to be back in traffic within the next few weeks.

A Class 507 farewell tour is being planned for next year, we don't have a confirmed date yet but we'll announce it on the Mersey Railways 2.0 Facebook group when the date is confirmed.

Only 1 shoe needs to be in contact with the conductor rail, as is standard on all new DCCR units nowadays. Services from Liverpool will switch to battery mode at Fazakerley. Services from Headbolt Lane will switch to 3rd rail mode at Kirkby.

3rd rail remains live from Fazakerley, Trains will switch back to 3rd rail mode at Kirkby when travelling towards Liverpool.
