From another thread about Stagecoach in Thanet.
What makes good bus territory these days and are there any areas where operators have 'beaten the odds' by creating an attractive service?
Back in the day the 77 was an Arriva route which ran Tunbridge Wells - Tonbridge - Kings Hill (and on to Maidstone on Sundays in place of the 72). The Mereworth extension might be a replacement for that.
Exactly - one near me has equal numbers of pumps and chargers now. It also has a Greggs and a small supermarket so perfect 'while you charge' businesses.
From looking at the map Thanet looks tricky to serve as it's polycentric between Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Westwood. Plus there is already a train through to Canterbury. What are the main destinations for bus passengers?
I went past Olympia recently, there was some construction work and a temporary yellow road sign which said Motorail on. I guess someone copied a relic sign without checking what it was actually for!
