Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

The Red Arrow team leader did that when trialling out a scania I6S (Turns out he voiced the automated systems too.) https://www.instagram.com/p/C7Z02u6NUEd/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== One thing you can hold up signs as well.

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

It's like with Transdev's considering you have many different stuff plugged in, like countdown, which can either be done manually or triggered by the ticketer machine automatically.

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

They have worked most of the time, although hanover is probably better considering it's more widespread. I'm honestly surprised Trent didn't decide to go with a Mobitec system on the ones fitted with that as it would've only required rewiring in the dests and adding a new screen.

Hanover is great! Even trentbarton are using it now on anything new and some of the retrofits.

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

I had been on the PC Coaches 26 plate E400MMC and no system at all is installed on them.

Central connect never got theirs to work when I used them, they did have these same displays though. 1780036947 A bit like this

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Yeah transdev are excellent at the announcement systems, they even did commentary on the 840 through goathland. The mobitec displays even do a countdown when at a timing point early

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Trent is very good at it, with their Aesys system and Hanover. You even get a different voice depending on which depot runs the route. (All drivers) Two of the voices I actually met in person. (James who does Derby Buses, and Michael who does Skylink)

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Something I have found, Jill Myers, the voice of Stagecoach buses in South Yorkshire and Derby actually talks about using a human voice over an ai, and mentions it is less time consuming as pronouncing things correctly only requires asking locals, rather than having to phonetically spell it and...

Shame Transdev don't make the screens like this anymore. If i was designing them, here is what I would do.

Now we have lead drivers James Davidson doing Derby's and Michael Meyerstein voicing Kinchbus. Do not know who the others are.

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

In Lincs we have some grammatical errors, and some stops don’t even match the NAPTAN at all, Caistor according to the bus is “Casitor”

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

SCEM used to do it but is going as announcements are now live in Gainsborough. Lincoln is probably next going to replace it with the gps kit going live soon

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

SCEM do say public house on the 53 and 56. Some still use the old elevenlabs program. 1771418632 For me, I would record my own as tts companies have had controversial past. Even Amazon Polly (basically what happened was, I have heard voiceover Geraint pickard, who was used in training the Welsh...

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Trent and Nottingham city transport have real voices doing theirs. 1771415855 I find Nottingham city transport’s quite unique considering they have their announcements come off the ticket machine system rather than the display system
