I believe it was always the plan that central would operate a fully double deck garage, however Glenlockhart Road was a concern for the 36.
After a lot of persuasion Glenlockhart isn’t a problem anymore, however due to the storms a few days ago there is a tree on Eyre Place which has fallen...
I’d imagine that something will have to be re-routed to serve Dalkeith campus. Thoughts on a postcard?
14 extended to millerhill and 33 to Dalkeith campus?
Another option is extend the 31 Polton Mill journeys to Rosewell providing links back to the city centre and allow interchange in Bonnyrigg for travel to Dalkeith.
I believe buses are to be withdrawn from Tesco Hardengreen soon with the ongoing improvement works on the A7.
91 is a miss allocation, either due to decker shortage or vehicle going down last minute.
67 is correctly allocated - this does a 36 from Longstone to ocean terminal every Saturday and turns into a 34. This should then be changed over back at Parkhead. This is due to low trees on Glenlockhart...
I’m pretty sure the guy who is the contact for vehicle sales is heavily involved in the SVBM.
On a side note, the electric single decks are due for delivery late march and will operate out of central depot for the 36
The 45 also terminates at the depot, so a perfect opportunity to changeover if necessary. These are new to marine drivers and its first couple of weeks in service.
Again, good news for Lothian with the X7 is becoming increasingly popular! I would imagine the ticketing would work both ways… Lothian wouldn’t accept a ticketing acceptance where revenue sits with borders and not them
I’m expecting a fairly even split between the second batch with around 20 being marine allocated. Unsure on numbers, however take into account Marine also has electrically powered tour buses and it’s somewhat behind central in its electrification stage.
The 23 seems to be the next central...
This journey does operate. It was previously a night bus when operated as a 200.
On the website you will find it right across at the end after midnight listed as the last run as opposed to being the first run.
This is probably down to the journey being linked to the previous days operation...
Low bridges aren’t the only problem…
Low hanging tree branches have also restricted some routes - 32 on Riccarton at west gate, 36 on Glenlockhart Road, 20 on Kingsknowe Road North at junction Lanark Road. Whilst deckers “have” operated in particular the 20 and 36, the risk with upper deck...
Airlink vehicles have been micro fleets in the past… remember the scania’s…
These are diesel lwb dual door, however I’m limited as to what I can release. These will arrive this year and information hopefully available towards year end
Sorry—- spare buses which sit at locations ready to assist late running
(Multi-utility-diversion-framework-agreement)
The term was largely brought in during tram works but leads to additional journeys and odd workings
There will be enhancements to Lothian Country announced in coming weeks, however this will be to improve reliability rather than a significant change.
There will be mudfas and additional journeys introduced for August.
September will be the next significant change network wide.
Some BZL’s are due to Marine once enough charging ports are completed and ready.
Service 5 will see the first Marine upgrade to BZL’s, so I’d expect some reshuffle once more deliveries arrive.
