Do you know if it’s a case of being rostered some sundays on a ‘voluntary’ basis or do you give your availability? Also, is this at an enhanced rate and does the same apply to rest day working?
Hi all,
Is anybody able to shed any light on what the West Midland Trains Drivers shift pattern is for those based out of Worcester Shrub Hill?
Cheers,
Luke
It’s pretty quick. 15/20 mins if that. I went in jeans and a jumper as I was shopping in Birmingham at the time and it was much more relaxed there than when I went for my interview.
Yeah I spent about 30mins with the uniform and then about 15mins with HR in HQ. How long did you have to wait for the Verifile stuff to come back? They just do a DBS isn’t it?
Yeah it is soon, it’s just difficult / unpredictable for me to get time off work in the week and I had this Friday free so I thought what the hell just go for it. Congratulations buddy, I guess we will be spending a fair bit of time together as of September then. Where will you be commuting from?
Got the call today Guys, all fine on the medical. Starter pack getting sent out today and uniform fitting etc on Friday afternoon. 16th September, can’t wait!
I applied in February also but had already passed all of the assessments last year with the freightliner process so I was invited to interview 3-4 weeks ago and all done pretty much now. A hugely improved process when compared with others
Ahh right well that’s good to know then isn’t it. Yeah I know what you mean, it’s been a patient wait and I’ve been really impressed with WMT. I don’t know if you or anybody else went through the process with Freightliner but I feel hugely let down by them and what was said in the interview...
Well that’s not a lot of notice really for you is it if it’s dependant on pre-employment checks is it, unless they're more of a formality? Because assuming you’ve got to give 4 weeks notice, that gives this week for references etc to be done and for them to give a definitive offer or...
Well done on the start date etc! I bet you’re over the moon! Have they given you your start date etc prio
is the starter pack your pre-employment checks etc then?
Just passed my medical bar the results of the drug test, which will be fine. Over the moon. Just wait for the call to start now. When I emailed HR I was advised I’ve been pencilled in for sept 16th start date subject to medical and pre-employment checks. Can’t wait now
How did your background checks etc go? Did you have to go through much with them? I’ve got my medical on the 25th June.
I bet you can’t wait to get started
