Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

Might still have opening ceremony tomorrow, as today being a Sunday, but I might be wrong though.

    Weird train-related dreams

Dreamt last night about pre-2019 ScotRail units (Class 320 in particular) having their vehicle numbers being renumbered in the six-digit series like the new units. Example was 320306: 477904 + 463026 + 477926. It is assumed in that dream that all pre-2015 DMUs and EMUs in the country would have...

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

After all, Strathclyde Transport orange livered Class 156 did wonder away from the Strathclyde area to places like Stranrear and Newcastle upon Tyne (that's in the Tyne and Wear PTE area). Unit 156502 even went to Utrecht in '89.

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

It's going to be a long while before InterCity and all regional trains in England are repainted.

    Train Simulator 2021

I think this is to do AP not being able to licence the 'Virgin' logo, it is surely a protected logo. All of the stock in VT livery within Armstrong Powerhouse don't have that such logo.

SWR Class 458/4s: fleet status and withdrawal updates

You should be getting spares from now withdrawn Class 458/5s, not 458401!

222 contract for Scotrail: updates (not speculation)

That’s every diesel class in the UK you listed, Though you actually missed out a prototype Class 210 DEMU from the 1980s. A bit of interruption to the Class 222 to explain how UK diesel units work. Don’t we all learn something new everyday.

The "And in other news..." thread

Actually, nothing's physically damaged, but did leave a big mess that can cause discomfort to some passengers and potentially damage to the train. That man should have been arrested for that.

    Weird train-related dreams

Had one this morning - dreamt of a subway similar to Glasgow Subway, except it is set in a city on the East Coast. The trains were in green livery, and the station tiles were white, with tunnel areas being brown (just like Glasgow's pre-2011). Later in the same dream, I went to the station...

    Natural phenomenon you have witnessed?

Nothing worse than getting up on dark winter mornings. It's still dark outside and I've to get up at 7:50am during the week (except Wednesday). The Western Isles and the Shetland Islands get their latest sunrise and earlier sunsets - sunrise at The Western Isles is around 09:15 on 28 December...

SPT Hamilton Circle Services Winter 1994-Mid 1995

As far as I’m aware, some services were also diverted via Coatbridge.

    Natural phenomenon you have witnessed?

Scotland will certainly won't have the best weather for it, given the moonrise around the end of totality! It is cloudy and were I live, so there is a doubt here.

    Train Simulator 2021

Looks like you need to login to Facebook to see everything else. I’m actually not allowed to join Facebook or X, but new Class 165/166 DMU would be a good addition. Have to say that the physics (simulation files) are not the best on Kuju Class 166 (slow acceleration), it was default to...

The Labour Party under Andy Burnham

Well, I'm afraid that's the way the world works in this day and age, everybody costs money to live. This country is pretty much the 'Nanny State' by money. And by the way, I had Spag Bol yesterday as well (with garlic bread). :D

Had the time machine exists, I’d escape the 2020s for a start.

16 and 17 year olds to be given the vote in the next GE

Off topic, but I recon it’s 18 years in England and 16 in Scotland before being allowed to marry. As far as I know, students are not allowed to leave school until they’re 18 in England, so technically they remain ‘child’ until they turn 18.

    Varamis Rail Class 321s & 325s”

If Varamis is to be finished, then the only destination for their Class 321s and 325s I can think of will be Newport Unimetals. It will be interesting to see what will happen to GBRF Class 769/5, at least that company is more firmer than Varamis. Let’s see what happens next for Varamis…

Israel attacks Iran - What will be the wider implications?

The way the news is reporting makes me feel worried after the US attacked the nuclear facility in Iran and of course we are hearing of the war between Iran and Israel. The other day, we had news that the UK must be prepared to be “war ready”. This all shows that we live in a fragile world...
