During the great Thameslink 700 meltdown caused by the power cut a few years ago my partner was completely stuck in London. Booked him a relatively reasonable hotel, sent the bill to GTR and they paid it in a few days no questions asked.

Is anyone able to confirm if it was specifically the frequency swing that caused the 700 failure, or whether it was merely the fact that power was lost for a time?

Because on the return journey there only seem to be advance for early morning or late night services - I can't find any during the day.
