Train drivers’ decades-long ticket fraud ‘cost taxpayer millions

Freight Duty Passes are paid for by the FOC, I believe there is a price per card plus an annual fee, probably, all in, it'll be in the region of £1000, ish

    Driver bag essential kit

+1 for the spare drivers keys, if you can get your hands on any additional ones. Also, a little note book is handy and a decent torch, depending on the nature of your companies work

Which railway lines are the least used in this country?

Still in use, it doesn't see many trains as such though, there is one going up there tomorrow (12/05) then I believe there's a Loram Grinder and the HOBC paying a visit in the coming months. The test track is still fairly busy with other, non-train related things.

Is there any way I can find out when the NMT HST will be near me?

its just the MML recording run, nothing to do with the OLE testing at 125mph. I'd assume the HST/class 91 will come out to play for that... Should be a runner by all accounts

Is there a case for extending some St Pancras to Nottingham services to Mansfield?

In and ideal world I'd prefer to see the proposed 'Maid Marian Line' come in to fruition. Start from Mansfield Woodhouse, upgrade the linespeed between Kirkby in Ashfield to Pye Bridge Junction, have a station at Pinxton, call at Langley Mill and Ilkeston and possibly have a new station at Long...

    New Measurement Train Drivers

There's no such link soley for the NMT. It's all grouped under the Colas Rail Infrastructure Monitoring Contract. Currently, drivers will also drive ultrasonic test trains, PLPR test trains and more recently depending on location and routes signed the VIU (class 153). They may on occasion...

    DB Mobile operative.

When I was a mobile op for DB the shift allowance was on top of your salary so in your case it would be a total of 30k regardless of shifts worked.

    Colas rail ground staff

Unsure on training salary, once qualified it's is around 32k with another pay rise due soon, you're issued with a van for work purposes. I'm unsure on T&Cs as I believe they're being changed with a view to attract people - watch this space
