The original issue was with 9M56. It stopped a mile or so south of Oxenholme with reports of pantograph damage/half missing. It did eventually manage to proceed after plans were beginning to be arranged for train to train evacuation or utilisation of the Crewe based Thunderbird
TPEs 1M88 was...
I did actually forget the filter coffee machine which is what’s usually used
the bean to coffee machine proved difficult to clean onboard so there’s 31 unused over the fleet. Believe the MK5s had them too but don’t quote me on that
TPE sets also have a large coffee machine installed that’s never seen service on any 802 or 397. Next to that is water boiler, some worktop space and a twin sink
On the other side 802s have 3 chilled cart slots in the fridge then 2 combi microwaves rather high up with worktop space below...
Scapegoat or not it was quite a widespread issue during August and this month which is why some seats still show with reservations (If booked several weeks ago) compared to those in the last 5-6 weeks when the reservations were blocked
Duplication has been common for a while with TPE, it was always assumed that one party had used Trainline and the other a TOC/other booking site. Particularly on Anglo Scottish services it’s been an issue hence why TPE tickets booked for the whole of this month have had no reservations showing...
At present with the Trainline/TOC system double booking seats there’s no reservations on TPE, on a 397 there are 2 single seats at either end of the coach. One is the companion seat for a wheelchair space however so may need to be given up as required
Glasgow doesn’t have hot food available on the first 3 services departing there. The first that should is the 0909. Carlisle and Manchester provide the food as the rule, Edinburgh and Liverpool can also provide some but are not the main service centres
As for what is offered and when it...
The problem with the QR/Aztec idea above is that she actually scanned my ticket after she’d checked it and it was only then she became properly unsure about its validity
After National Rail confirmed It i tagged VT in a reply asking if they were still stating the same point but funnily enough...
A further issue with the pricing on the 3 in 7 East Mids is that the published price for 16-25 is different to the rest and still wrong!
I asked LNWR the same question on validity and they linked to the 7 day rover which funnily enough has no mention of Coventry in the description which VT used...
That’s exactly what I’ve just done funnily enough! If it’s down to the mere interpretation of a few words, which clearly aren’t suitable or defined especially when contradicting the map, then it’s simply unacceptable.
I’m chasing them up for a response, as they’re clearing just ignoring me, under the impression that going to be traveling on that route later this week (highly likely) and querying that I won’t be charged a new ticket because of the lack of clarity on the National Rail website and the fact that...
I was told by the TM who scanned the QR code on my ticket (don’t get me started on the unsuitability of bog roll tickets for a rover) saying that it might only be valid by slower routes, even when confronted by the National rail map. She said that if one of her colleagues did things ‘by the...
Morning all,
Can anyone confirm what I’ve been told by a Virgin Trains TM and their Twitter team this morning that travel between Stoke on Trent and Milton Keynes is not valid on their services?
They are saying that the blurb at the top of the description on National Rail is the routing...
Having travelled from Bromsgrove today on a WMDR I ended up on a 6 car 323 by accident as the connection off the inbound Hereford missed thanks to the usual congestion between Great Malvern and Worcester Foregate St at 11 in the morning
68s are now cleared in both directions on the Cumbrian Coast and have been for a few months now.
Also, any units that have been doubled up to 4 cars on that line (with the exception of the last one from Whitehaven - Carlisle) are at present only running as 4 car, which is too long for the...
