The visit to Cheadle was to spend time trainspotting. I did not leave the station and had no idea this would even cause issues given it's in the itinerary. I did indeed increase the change time to 120 minutes to spend more time there.
Therefore was I in the wrong?
Hi,
I am currently on a train between Cheadle Hulme and Crewe. The guard scans my ticket fine and says no problem. However 10-15 minutes later someone who was doing ticketing surveys on behalf of Northern scans it and says that Advance Tickets cannot be broken mid-journey.
But what I don't...
Inspired to post this whilst travelling on a Class 730.
I have to say the (accessible) toilets on these units are poorly designed, with the sink being too small and the water hole being at the very edge rather than in the middle of it, meaning the floor ends up soaked when the train begins...
I was thinking something like Tottenham Court Rd Elizabeth line. Again this could be very far out considering it's London we are talking about with all its commuters, but that and Stratford (Elizabeth line) on Saturdays I can imagine are very busy.
Could be going out on a limb, but somewhere touristy like Edinburgh Waverley surely is busier on Saturdays than any of Monday-Friday.
I also think other leisure stations like Windsor and Eton Riverside (for Legoland) would be busier on weekends.
9K42 via Weedon, but trains behind are still going via Northampton. Was it sent to line inspect?
The Northampton line is a great divert when stoppers and freights don't exist :D
I don't see anything wrong with boarding first class if it's the first coach from the buffer, as long as you move down the train into standard afterwards.
Has anyone else seen that viral social media video of two women running down the platform with suitcases getting to the door only to be told they can't board? Despite others boarding at that exact moment. The train was likely late to depart.
A LOT of people on social media are saying it was a...
When I was travelling from Glasgow on Avanti, the announcements started saying stations on the Holyhead line. Pendos don't even go there never mind being the wrong route!
Understandable for Argyle Street, but at Central westbound they never used monitors IIRC, as the platform is straight, so the driver just looked out his/her window.
Not to mention they still have the one way system in place at Central since COVID (iirc). Meaning only one narrow stairwell for...
