How are you all coping with the £3 cap?

My return has gone from £4 to £5.80 for around 2 miles each way. Prior to the cap it was £3.80. I drive now instead as it works out cheaper given we already have the car.

    Hassocks delay claim denied

I suspect that by the time the 13:28 stopped, the driver spoke to control, and it was announced to be terminating, the 14:11 would have long gone.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

The Weston services are having a hard time tonight due to motorway closures, with some services running over 5 hours late. I do feel for the drivers who no doubt are significantly late home.

No notice of cancellation of significant number of services on North Downs Line? (29/09)

It wasn't necessarily a shortage of drivers. Guards are also required for that line.

Transpora had their own London tour. Not sure when it ended though.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

I'm not sure there's anything to protect the driver from in this case. 39463 worked the 18:55 into the centre. Normally this goes to the depot (based on the previous several days worth of tracking). Looks like either the driver had an old diagram, or just misread what they were doing.

Chiltern Railways train stuck for 5 hours

Not sure where the five hours came from on this thread. Evacuation started in under two hours, and was complete an hour later.

    The Transport Game (UK)

A short walk around the corner to Morrisons, and it's time to catch the 17:01 X7 Arriva service as far as Oxford High Street, arriving at 18:35.

Refusal to give up space for wheelchair

And even harder if you're on your own, travelling with a baby and another young child like I do. Obviously I'd fold the pushchair if a wheelchair needed the bay (and have done on several occasions), but it is difficult especially when the youngest is asleep. Luckily my local operator has a...

Refusal to give up space for wheelchair

One thing I wish is that operators order vehicles with separate wheelchair and pushchair bays. With the exception of rural routes using tiny vehicles, it really shouldn't be one or the other. Luckily many of the bigger companies use vehicles to this specification, but London is probably the...

Stagecoach West - Fleet News & Discussion

Anyone know why the 51 has been operated by single deckers since Tuesday? Highly unusual for the entire allocation to be single decks. I've only ever known it during extreme weather!

    Transpora Group

I'm fairly confident that the PDF should have a 15:15 journey, not a 14:45 journey, as there's no bus that arrives in time for 14:45 (there is a 15:06 arrival - but no sign of that yesterday)

    Transpora Group

Attempted to catch the 15:15 T1 off Hengistbury Head today, but by 15:40 it still hadn't turned up. Unfortunately as the route doesn't often track on bustimes it wasn't possible to see if it was coming, so caught more back to Bournemouth instead. On another note, it's actually quite difficult...

    Cinderford New - Historic Timetables

I've been trying to find some historic timetables for the two southern routes to Cinderford prior to closure in the late 1940's / early 1950's. Cinderford New - Newnham Cinderford New - Lydeny (via Drybrook Road) Does anyone happen to have any information? Anything is helpful, from timings...

Friday late start - even without Network Rail staff on strike.

The workload is such that it's unlikely a crew diagram is worked on for more than a minute or two, with no chance to go back and check for errors (such checks used to be a thing, but were the first to go when Covid vastly increased the workload, further increased by strikes).

Different Guard Depot, Route and Traction cards

For GWR: 769s are no longer going into service, so the traction can be removed from Reading. Gloucester and Penzance Conductors are no more. They're all now Train Managers. Swindon sign 387 and 80X

    Transpora Group

I believe today was the first journey of the weekly 781 between Blakeney and Gloucester. Anyone happen to know what is running on it? I presume the Bristol 200MMCs, but that's a fair amount of dead mileage!

West of England Combined Authority Cuts

Couldn't see a thread for this, and as the cuts are multi-operator, figured a new thread would be best... West of England Combined Authority have signed off the withdrawal of 36 routes because funding can't be agreed between councils. Appalling as these changes will leave vast areas without a...
