Great picture! Yes, I've been emailing with Ben Brooksbank, he's a wonderful chap with a wealth of pictures from Tewkesbury/Ashchurch. It was actually because of his lone picture of Malvern Hanley Road that I started my blog project, I wanted to find out more information about it!

Foot crossings are for crossing only. You should never ever be stationary on one. Network Rail are slowly removing them all because they know how dangerous they are, even when used properly. A foot crossing should not be used as an excuse to stand closer to the line when a train passes, even...

Yes, I'll be doing some filming up there soon. The turning loop for services terminating at Great Malvern can sometimes create the impression that the Wells GWR station is still in use, which is neat. I don't suppose you have any photos of the old Midland line on the common by any chance?

Hi LNW, glad you liked the video. Did you live on St Andrew's Road? From what I've heard the railway filled in the cutting across the Common and sold the land to the adjacent houses there in the 70s. Some houses went for it and some didn't, so the whole thing has a bit of a higgeldy-piggeldy...
