Anyone considered that they are looking at the much longer term? When the western access to Heathrow eventually gets built, I suspect HEX will be modified to something like Paddington - Heathrow - Reading, poss even further west.
I would imagine it is easier to keep the operation ticking over...
I traveled on an 800 today and I was surprised to see how many people mistook the locked trolley storage cupboard for a toilet, perhaps a sign is required.
By all accounts the 332s are life expired, as many people have said they are worked very hard 7 days a week.
I wonder how the 387s will cope with being worked so intensively over a short route.
The contract for the changes to the 387 trains was announced yesterday:

Looks like the class 332s will soldier on till the end of the year.
The P&O ferry website seems better setup where you have to actually put the number on your priv card into the website to obtain the discount.
I am unsure how open to abuse it is but it appear to work quite well on the surface of it.
I travelled on the southbound highlander yesterday arriving today. Was not overly impressed with the provisions to be honest, text in the morning to say there would be no hot food, no problems as I eat before I got on, the message said breakfast was unaffected. I Was greeted with a wake up to...
This is a new design of train so it seems sensible to me to not put too many "new" things on the train, I much happier seeing proven bits of kit on the train rather than having a completely clean sheet design.
I know this is only an information display, but I would like to think that it is...
Platform extensions at Chertsey open this morning. Still appeared to be some work going on but barriers preventing public using full length platforms have been removed
There is a temporary restriction at the end of platform 1 at staines since before Christmas, not sure what it relates too but seems a long time for a temporary restriction
Good luck getting 12tph through the single bore tunnel between CTA and T4.
As others have already said, between Hayes and Heathrow it's a private enterprise and not bound by the same rules as the rest of the rail network. At the end of the day Heathrow are always going to protect their...
I am struggling to understand what is going take another 3 years to complete? Considering the tunneling and civil works are almost complete and a fair amount of track is already in place, is anyone able to give an idea of what's left on the to do list? I don't work in the industry and this is...
I believe this is making use of stock that forms a very early arrival into Paddington, it then forms the service to reading and back, the stock would otherwise sit empty at old oak common.
I don't think there would be enough time between the very early arrival and the next booked service to...
It's only free on buses from hatton cross, you may find this map useful:
www.railair.com/travel_around_Heathrow.pdf
Basically any bus going from hatton cross to Heathrow is free but you have to pay on the tube
