Because when they cross at Kettering it almost always delays the express, particularly because the signalling changes from 4 aspect to 3 aspect at Wellingborough so they gave to slow as the signals are far apart and once passed a single yellow the next is red
It ran exceptionally well yesterday on 1F25, in fact we arrived in Leicester 2 mins early, helped by a RT Class 360 put over at Wellingborough North, which we passed at Kettering before it had even opened its doors.

I don't think currently that there are sufficient drivers trained to provide a consistent service, it's starting to ramp up now, until now there's been a small dedicated group at Derby covering all diagrams for each unit, but for every extra unit added it needs more trained drivers at all depots

Was very pointless, it delayed a train full of passengers at Derby, as 006 was late to the platform and with all the end change procedures it was an age before the doors opened, and it left 20 mins late. Would have made more sense to have done the change at the start of the next journey at...
Looks like two planned in service today, 010 is already in London after working 0549 NOT-STP and 006 is showing as working 5Z32 XEP-STP to form 1132 to Sheffield
